Jamie Carragher believes that Cristiano Ronaldo wants Man Utd to sack him after his recently interview. According to Sky Sports head reporter Kaveh Solhekol, Manchester United will seek legal counsel before determining how to respond to Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview. Senior club officials are debating how to handle the player, although Erik ten Hag maintains that he has never treated a player disrespectfully, including Cristiano Ronaldo. Since being benched during the match against Chelsea, Ronaldo has started four games, and this month in the Premier League, he captained the team against Aston Villa.
“There is no doubt that he wants to be fired. He informed the team of his desire to leave in the summer; in football, things like this do occur. There were no takers, maybe due to his earnings or the asking price set by Manchester United,” Jamie Carragher said about Cristiano Ronaldo. “I believe he is attempting to get fired or wants to depart for free because he knows that will be the case during the upcoming transfer window and possibly the following summer. He can only escape in that manner. And I believe that either United should fire him or let him leave on a free transfer. They are currently working to create something else than a current effort to win the Premier League or the Champions League. In the following two or three years, the manager will want to make a play for those awards, but Ronaldo won’t be there.”
Ten Hag’s problem is no longer present; Man Utd’s problem is. The owners and other top club officials must deal with it because it has grown to such a size. Ten Hag is unable to handle it on his own. Ronaldo seems to have no means to return to United, and it seems improbable that he would ever play for the team again. The club has done all in its power to support Ronaldo, but there is only so much that can be done. Last Thursday, after learning he wouldn’t start against Villa, he went to see United’s medical staff to let them know he wasn’t feeling well. Since then, United has not seen him.
