Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr has offered Cristiano Ronaldo the best offer after he left Manchester United earlier this month. But despite rumors to the contrary, the Portuguese player has not finalized a contract to join the Saudi Arabian team. Cristiano Ronaldo is a free agent after leaving Manchester United late last month, and a number of teams in the nation are interested in signing him and Al-Nassr is one of these groups. The most likely place for Ronaldo to end up is a club in Saudi Arabia, a nation eager to use him as an ambassador for soccer there. At the World Cup in Qatar, Ronaldo is still in action. He is entirely focused on defeating Switzerland in the round of 16 to set up a potential quarterfinal matchup with Spain, should Luis Enrique’s team defeat Morocco on Tuesday.
Fernando Santos, Portugal’s coach, was not pleased with Ronaldo’s response to being replaced in the team’s loss to South Korea, but he claims that the situation has been settled in time for Portugal’s match against Switzerland in the round of 16.
“Have I seen the pictures of Ronaldo being replaced? Yes. What I saw did I not like? No, I didn’t enjoy it at all,” Santos said. “These disputes are settled in private. It’s over now. Stop talking about this issue; all attention is focused on the game tomorrow.”
Ronaldo left United last month by mutual consent after his tense chat with Piers Morgan. United said in a 67-word statement that they and the 37-year-old forward had come to a mutual decision to end his contract.
