Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte believes that Harry Kane is in the best physical and mental condition heading into the World Cup this month. Before the Qatar tournament’s break, Kane made his farewell appearance for Spurs in a 4-3 victory over Leeds. He played the entire 90 minutes and scored. The England captain has played the most minutes (1,137) of any Premier League player in all competitions since October as he prepares for the tournament. Kane is flying to Qatar in top mental and physical shape, according to England coach Antonio Conte, despite concerns over exhaustion ahead of England’s opening encounter against Iran on November 21.
“He’s in the ideal physical and mental shape going into the World Cup. Being the captain of England, I believe he feels a great deal of responsibility. England, in my opinion, is one of the top teams in the world and a contender for a major competition. All the best to Harry and England, please. As Italy is not participating, I can support England,” Antonio Conte said about Harry Kane.
Spurs are currently in fourth place in the Premier League and have secured a place in the Champions League’s round of 16. The club’s most recent victory over Leeds came in spectacular fashion, as Rodrigo Bentancur scored twice in the final 10 minutes to put the team in a strong position going into the Boxing Day resumption. All 15 of Kane’s Premier League starts this season have resulted in 12 goals, and Conte praised the striker for handling “a lot of weight on his shoulders” over the previous six weeks.
“Harry had a significant impact, particularly in the last 13 games,” he added. “We owe a debt of gratitude to Harry for helping us conclude this era in the Champions League’s last 16 and among the top four. Kulusevski, Richarlison, Lucas Moura, and Son have all suffered numerous injuries, and Son struggled a little at the beginning of the season.”
