Brazil and Switzerland face each other after winning their opening games of the World Cup against Serbia and Cameroon respectively. Serbia’s obstinate resistance was finally broken by the Seleçao thanks to a brace from Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison, the second of which has already been selected for the tournament’s highlights reel. Although less impressive, Switzerland’s 1-0 victory over Cameroon was just as significant in advance of a rematch from the 2018 group stage. Four and a half years ago, Brazil and Die Nati drew 1-1 at the Rostov Arena before moving on to the knockout stages of the competition. Everything you need to know about the first match between the countries since that World Cup draw is provided here.
Brazil team news
An unpleasant reminder of caution in an otherwise peaceful evening was Neymar’s injured ankle. Tite, the manager of Brazil, quickly downplayed the seriousness of the injury. He admonished, “Don’t worry, Neymar will play in the World Cup. “I didn’t see Neymar was hurt; his ability to recover fooled even me.” For the remainder of the group stages, Brazil will likely be without their talisman, it seems.
Switzerland team news
The only player from Switzerland’s team who did not participate in the victory over Cameroon was Renato Steffen. The FC Lugano forward is questionable for the glamorous match against Brazil since he has been dealing with upper body muscular strain.
Brazil vs Switzerland World Cup score prediction
Brazil has lost more World Cup matches against European opposition since 2010 (four) than they have won (three), even with their convincing victory over Serbia. Switzerland recently made things more difficult for the Seleçao on the continent during the last competition. After their opening play, Murat Yakin, the manager of Die Nati, referred to his team as “the best Switzerland side ever.” Even while this generation doesn’t quite rank among the nation’s lofty list of legends yet, Brazil isn’t exactly lacking in quality.
Prediction: Brazil 2-0 Switzerland
