Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni revealed that he believes coaching Lionel Messi is an honor after they reached the World Cup final. In order to set up a historic final against either France or Morocco on Sunday at the same site, Messi scored and set up Julian Alvarez on Tuesday night at the Lusail Iconic Stadium. The 35-year-old has given himself one more chance to win the one prize that eludes him; only Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe has scored as many goals in Qatar. Messi’s 2006 World Cup teammate Scaloni claims the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s accomplishments are propelling the entire country ahead.
“I am honoured to train him and see him play,” Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni said about Lionel Messi. “He serves as a tremendous source of inspiration for his teammates, supporters, and the entire world every time you see him play.”
Given that both Diego Maradona and Pele have won the World Cup, Messi’s lack of the trophy has been the one significant knock against the former Barcelona forward in the discussion of the greatest player to ever play the game. Neville claims that Argentina’s organizational structure gives Messi the ideal setting from which to excel at the other end of the field.
“To him and the rest of his team, the World Cup seems like a mission,” Gary Neville said. “In terms of how they are playing, they are all so coordinated around him. On the verge of saying, ‘We are going to keep a clean sheet, we are going to be impossible to play against, we are going to do everything correctly, and then he will win us the game,’ they are actually saying something quite different. And that’s what’s taking place. Ten boxers and a genius are available for Argentina. They also have the tournament’s best fans. In the competition, they developed.”
