Four Germany fans have been arrested for attacking England fans ahead of their Nations League fixture. The Metropolitan Police revealed that 100 men approached a pub and began assaulting the customers. The police revealed that at least three people suffered serious injuries while others suffered injuries to the head and face. It was the last match for both teams before the World Cup in November. The two teams entertained Wembley with a goal-fest that ended 3-3.
“On September 26 at 17:50, a group of about 100 individuals, many of whom were wearing masks, entered a pub on Dagmar Avenue, Wembley through an alley that led to the parking lot,” a statement by the Metropolitan Police read after a set of Germany fans attacked England fans. “Even though several of the group were sporting England hats and scarves, it’s thought they were actually German “fans.” The majority of the patrons were there to watch England vs. Germany, so the mob entered the pub’s beer garden and started attacking people there. There were punches and missiles thrown, including traffic cones.”
“When police intervened, the group ran away. About two minutes passed while the dysfunction persisted,” the statement added. “Many persons suffered facial and head injuries. Three more patients who had major injuries to their thumb, wrist, and legs are also known to us. None of the injured people are thought to be in life-threatening danger. Four people have been arrested so far in connection with the disorder.”
