Man City
Stefan Ortega – 6.5 – Although some argued that Ederson should start, Guardiola stuck with his backup, and the German was unlucky not to record another shutout.
Kyle Walker – 7.5 – Guardiola once fell to his knees in rage during the second half after Walker turned over control. However, the fullback was outstanding the entire time.
Ruben Dias – 7 –Otherwise, City’s rock in defense put on another calm performance. He might have scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final.
Manuel Akanji – 6.5 – Akanji frequently found himself in midfield, where he appeared to relish playing given the abundance of control his team possessed.
John Stones – 9 – With another subtle effort, felt at home in the middle of the pitch. You might argue that he’s quickly elevating his status to that of one of City’s most crucial players.
Rodri – 7.5 –Although City’s metronome was a little off, United was unable to capitalize on it.
Bernardo Silva – 7 – He just played against Real Madrid and was fantastic in this situation, but he never truly showed that performance on the Wembley surface.
Kevin De Bruyne – 8.5 – Untouchable in the sense that, when in full flight, the Belgian playmaker was impossible for anybody wearing red to approach.
Ilkay Gundogan – 9.5 – At the conclusion of the season, he stepped up with significant goals, and Gundogan did it once more. His incredible goal in the FA Cup final was scored in the quickest time ever (12 seconds). Six minutes after the half, he scored his second to give City the lead again. What a way to go out if this turns out to be his last domestic game wearing a City jersey.
Jack Grealish – 6 – Unlucky to have given up a penalty after battling with Wan-Bissaka in the air as the ball flicked his hand. He will try to redeem himself in Istanbul one week from now after this was far from his greatest performance in a City shirt.
Erling Haaland – 7 – This time, his off-the-cuff work stood out. Haaland’s ability to hold the ball up provided City an edge that United was unable to handle.
Man United
David De Gea – 4.5 – Gundogan’s shot from the 12th second sailed beyond him as he stood still. When Rodri just missed with a header from a free kick minutes later, he was once again stuck to the spot. As for Gundogan’s second, he could have performed better.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5 – After lunging recklessly, missing the ball, and then tripping Grealish with his trailing leg, the player became the first to appear in Paul Tierney’s book.
Raphael Varane – 5.5 – Had a shot before the interval that was wide. His abundance of knowledge was much appreciated once City took the game by force. He almost rushed in an equalizer in the 92nd minute to force extra time.
Victor Lindelof – 5 – Haaland kept him alert, and his decision to let the ball bounce before attempting to head it away contributed partly to City’s opening score.
Luke Shaw – 5.5 – He was kept from crossing into City’s half to cause chaos because he was kept busy down United’s left wing.
Casemiro – 5 – After jumping over the top and catching Akanji in the 12th minute, managed to avoid a penalty.
Christian Eriksen – 3 – To call someone anonymous would be a misnomer. Eriksen, who usually controls the action, was a bystander in the United middle.
Fred – 4.5 – Brought in to give United’s midfield some defensive bite, but frequently found himself getting overwhelmed. He gave up a pointless free kick, which allowed City to regain the lead. deserved a yellow game to end the game.
Bruno Fernandes – 6.5 – Keep your cool as his successful penalty strike brought United back into a game that appeared to be slipping away from them.
Marcus Rashford – 6 – Felt alone and subsisted on leftovers. In the 69th minute, he made his first significant attempt, a long-range shot that sailed past Ortega’s crossbar.
Jadon Sancho – 4 – Has not yet had a standout performance while wearing a United jersey, and it never seemed like it would today.
