Paris Saint-Germain has claimed that Chelsea’s document gaffe scuppered their loan move for Hakim Ziyech. PSG filed an appeal with the Professional Football League’s (LFP) legal committee, claiming that Chelsea provided the wrong papers in the beginning after the parameters of an agreement were completed. They assert that Chelsea delivered the appropriate documentation twice when it was flagged but without a signature. The deadline had already passed when the right version was obtained. On Wednesday morning local time, the LFP convened to review the documentation and consider the case. They made the decision not to accept the loan and left.
The administrative errors that negatively impacted their outgoings, such as Ismael Gharbi’s temporary relocation to Nice, have incensed the French giants. After passing his medical exam, Ziyech was awaiting his unveiling in Paris on Tuesday. Prior to the deadline, Chelsea was sent the loan agreement and asked to sign it. When they returned the email after signing it, they found that it had not arrived due to an “unforeseen technical difficulty.” PSG resent the agreement to Chelsea, who signed it and returned it at precisely 11 p.m.
“Ziyech is “incandescent” and finds it difficult to believe that his move to PSG was unsuccessful. He was begging Todd Boehly to complete the sale through text message on Tuesday night. The athlete, who is still in Paris, is so desperate to leave and join PSG that he will even spend his own money to make the move happen,” Kaveh Solhekol said about Hakim Ziyech joining Paris Saint-Germain. “The protocols for a loan deal were completely in place when the player arrived in Paris at noon on Tuesday; the only issues to be resolved were the sum and the buyout option. While he was in PSG headquarters in the early evening, Ziyech and his agent started to worry about Chelsea, but there was still no indication that the deal would fail. The athlete started sending Boehly personal emails, pleading with him to finish the contract as quickly as possible and letting him know he would be pleased to contribute financially. Despite the “shambles,” a compromise was eventually achieved.”
