Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall believes there is no need to worry about Man City as they continue in their WSL pursuit. Arsenal, which is now fourth in the table and has a two-game advantage over both Manchester teams, has four more games to play. It is three points behind third-placed Manchester City, five points behind second-placed Chelsea, and nine points behind Manchester United, who are currently in first place. The injured Gunners, who have virtually little chance of overtaking either of the top two teams, will be eager to capitalize on City’s weekend slip-up after Gareth Taylor’s team lost shockingly to Liverpool. They will be aiming for a top-three finish.
“Lina Hurtig and Steph Catley are set to be added to Arsenal’s extensive injury list, which also includes Caitlin Foord, so we’re doing all we can to get individuals on the pitch,” Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall said. “I don’t give a damn about Manchester City’s performance. We need to focus on each of the four remaining games. Try our absolute best in each of those games. If we succeed, we’ll place as high as we can in the standings. The only thing we have any control over is that. It’s dull. But it is the area on which we must concentrate. You must consider the future. should concentrate on the following foe. Since this game is a very difficult challenge, we cannot be thinking about any other game.”
Additionally, Eidevall stated that he believes it is critical for the team to be able to draw on the wisdom of more seasoned members of his team, such as defender Jen Beattie and striker Jodie Taylor, during a challenging stretch as Arsenal tries to overtake Man City in the fight for Champions League participation.
“According to me, you look at players who could lose concentration when there are external elements present, such as pressure to produce outcomes. Players with leadership qualities and experience can follow the game strategy,” he added. “They frequently act as role models. Jodie Taylor and Jen Beattie are both excellent examples of it. They are aware of their responsibilities and what our team needs. Kelly Smith’s playing style, in my opinion, exemplifies everything we desire from this club. Her presence in our surroundings to try to influence culture is just fantastic. She is able to perceive things broadly.”
