Defending Champions France will take on Poland in their World Cup Round of 16 knockout games. Both nations advanced despite losing their final group games. Poland narrowly made it into the round of 16 on the basis of goal differential alone, while Didier Deschamps altered his squad against Tunisia with qualification already secured. For more than 20 minutes, Poland’s lone advantage over Mexico in Group C came from a smaller number of yellow cards.
France team news
Deschamps made nine changes to the starting XI for the match against Tunisia following an injury-plagued start to the competition. Before some of those illustrious names entered the game, the mediocre performance would not have persuaded Deschamps that any of the reserves are worthy of a spot in the starting lineup.
Poland team news
It is anticipated that Czeslaw Michniewicz will have a full roster at his disposal. The management of Poland doesn’t appear to be totally convinced of this quality, though. Michniewicz jokingly said, “I can’t transform water into wine,” before turning around. Even so, it might be helpful here.
France vs Poland World Cup score prediction
Although France’s B team’s defeat to Tunisia provides little context for their match against Poland, the luxury of rotation may be crucial moving ahead. Deschamps undoubtedly believes this. The World Cup winner predicted that four days from now, we would start to reap the rewards. In all three of their group games, Poland has been handily outshot, but someway, some way, they have managed to eke out four points. France and their rested frontline are unlikely to be as lenient as Mexico and Saudi Arabia if they adopt the same hopelessly passive stance.
Prediction: France 3-0 Poland
