Real Madrid motivated to keep Sergio Ramos. Fernando Hierro has asked the club for a new deal for the best center-back in the club’s history.
As things currently stand, a long-serving figure at the Santiago Bernabeu is set to become a free agent. His new contract expires in the summer. Many have been surprised. The failure to find new terms, with a host of clubs now sniffing around Ramos, and Hierro hopes an agreement will be found that fits both parties.
“I think we are alike. By character. By way of being,” the Blancos legend told El Confidencial of a World Cup winner.
“We still have a great friendship. Sergio is a Real Madrid hero, and hopefully, he will finish his sporting career here. Players like him, in my opinion, could end up in a fantastic club. From a sporting standpoint, he has advantages. I did not have any. In my opinion, he is the best center-back in the club’s history. That is plain to me because of what he has represented, and I am without a doubt happy for him.”
Few sides in Europe will balance Ramos’ athletic and financial determination. Including the fact that the Spain international is now 34 years old.
Who Is Racing For Sergio Ramos?
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are among those who could strike a bargain if the chance arose. Ligue 1 and Premier League heavyweights are said to be holding a close watch on developments in Madrid.
