The Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that Manchester City forward Erling Haaland is being investigated for using his mobile phone behind the wheel. City has made no remark on the incident involving their scorer, who has 42 goals in 37 games this season. The 22-year-old was scheduled to join the Norwegian national team this week, but he withdrew from the squad due to a groin injury. According to his father Alf-Inge, Haaland is now “touch and go” for Manchester City’s game against Liverpool after the international break. City has not provided an update on Haaland’s health, but his father stated last week that he is receiving treatment in Spain.
“Because Manchester City has a link with a facility in Barcelona, he has traveled there for additional testing and treatment,” Alfie Haaland, dad of Manchester City forward Erling Haaland said. “He’s been in [Marbella] for a few days now, working with the club’s physio. First and foremost, I am not a doctor, and secondly, I believe it is “touch and go.” You can’t go two weeks without training and then throw yourself into a fight. There must be some sort of progression there. They can bet on it, but if he doesn’t get adequate team conditioning, he won’t play. It is all about how he reacts to treatment in the next days. He requires a great deal of attention.”
