Fulham is looking to sign Arsenal right-back Cedric Soares in the January transfer window. Late in the summer window, the club started to inquire about him, and they have continued to do so. Only two substitute appearances for Arsenal have been made by the 31-year-old this year. Marco Silva, the manager of Fulham, and he are both Portuguese. Soares’ contract with Arsenal expires in 2024. He moved to Arsenal from Southampton in January 2020 on a six-month initial loan. Kia Joorabchian, who assisted in bringing Willian to Fulham in the summer, is Cedric Soares’ agent. In the January transfer window, Fulham’s top priorities are a new right-back and a central midfielder.
Gabriel Jesus underwent knee surgery after suffering an injury while playing for Brazil at the World Cup, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is unsure how long the striker will be sidelined. The 25-year-old suffered a right knee injury in Brazil’s final group match, a 1-0 loss to Cameroon. According to reports, Jesus might be sidelined for up to three months. However, the club and Arteta both say they have not set a timetable for his comeback.
“He obviously needs some knee intervention, and we will have to take it day by day, week by week, and see where it leads,” Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said.
