Saudi League club Al-Ittihad has opened discussions with Celtic for the signing of Jota. The 24-year-old is wanted by Celtic, who would only contemplate selling him for a substantial transfer sum. Jota, who joined Celtic on loan in 2021 before the Glasgow club activated a buyout clause last summer, would owe Benfica 30% of any future transfer fee. Jota signed a five-year contract, and he had a productive season with 12 assists and 15 goals. Following their PIF acquisition, Al-Ittihad recently acquired Karim Benzema from Real Madrid and N’Golo Kante from Chelsea.
Marco Tilio, a striker for Melbourne City, has signed a contract with Celtic. According to what is known, the paperwork is being finalized, and the Hoops anticipate finishing the deal this week. The 21-year-old Australia international, who can also play as a center-forward, would be manager Brendan Rodgers’ second addition to the team since his return. For the A-League winners Melbourne City past season, Tilio scored nine goals.
In order to help Brendan Rodgers achieve domestic success and participate in the Champions League, the club board will support him in the transfer market. Odin Thiago Holm, a midfielder for Celtic, was previously recruited by the club on a five-year agreement as Rodgers’ first signing after moving back to Glasgow, and the Parkhead manager wants more to come.
“Anytime you have performed well, it is a good idea to strengthen. There won’t be a lot of numbers,” new Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers said. “They have developed a team over the previous couple of years, so the challenge is to build on it and add quality where we can. As a young team with a lot of room for improvement, I’m quite enthusiastic about the players here.”
