Real Madrid has announced the signing of 16-year-old Endrick from Palmeiras. Endrick will continue with Palmeiras until he is 18 in July 2024, at which point he will join Real. One of the most sought-after kids in the world was signed by Real, beating out a number of other elite European clubs, most notably Chelsea. In order to discuss a possible transfer for the highly sought-after youngster, Chelsea hosted Endrick’s family at the club’s training facility in Cobham last month. This has been referred to as “the largest negotiation in Brazilian football history” by Palmeiras president Leila Pereira.
“The Real Madrid offer is in line with Endrick’s immense skill and the financial and sporting objectives we’ve set since the outset of negotiations,” she added about Real Madrid signing Endrick.
Real has had success in recent years investing in Brazil’s most promising young players. At roughly the same age, deals were reached for Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, who are both now first-team regulars. Endrick praised “the club of his heart” for allowing him to come to the Bernabeu and vowed to do everything for Palmeiras in the upcoming 18 months.
“I’m grateful to Palmeiras, the club that will always hold a special place in my heart, for providing me with everything I needed to succeed today, for helping me realize my goals, and for respecting both my wishes and my family’s,” Endrick said. “I will continue to put in the same amount of effort it has always taken to be able to give Palmeiras even more on the field—more goals, more wins, more trophies, and even more happiness for our supporters—until I sign with Real Madrid.”
