Leicester is interested in signing Jack Harrison but Leeds is not looking to offload the winger. Although both teams are one point above the bottom three, Leeds does not want to sell Harrison, and according to one source, the club would also be reluctant to let him go to a relegation contender. Harrison has had a call from Newcastle in the past, but it’s believed the 26-year-old has no plans to leave Elland Road right now. Harrison’s current contract has fewer than 18 months left, but manager Jesse Marsch has made it obvious he wants to extend it. Nevertheless, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is seeking a winger with a good left foot and a high level of work ethic, and Jack Harrison has both.
Ayoze Perez, a forward for Leicester, has at least two clubs in Europe interested in signing him. If Leicester can sign a fresh right-winger within the final week of the transfer window, they might be willing to let him go. Only three Premier League games have seen Perez start, but two of those three games have come after Christmas when Leicester is facing an injury problem. Perez has one goal this season. The Spaniard is free to speak with other teams because his contract with the club expires in the summer. If Leicester has a ready-made successor, they would be willing to let him leave right away for a reasonable amount.
In the meantime, Arsenal’s £60 million offer for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo was turned down. The south coast club is adamant that Caicedo would not be sold during the current January transfer window, but Arsenal is still intrigued and is considering making a second offer. A £60 million price was included in the Gunners’ offer for Caicedo. Brighton’s acquisition of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea for an initial £57 million plus add-ons ranks as the largest transfer fee in the club’s history.
