Jordan Nobbs has completed her permanent transfer to Aston Villa after 12 and a half years from Arsenal. The 69-cap winner from England has a contract provision that allows her to stay at Aston Villa for an additional year. Nobbs won five Women’s League Cups, four Women’s FA Cup medals, and three WSL championships while playing for Arsenal. At the conclusion of the current season, her contract was scheduled to expire. Nobbs outlined her time with the Gunners in an emotional letter that was issued by the club after she left, beginning with her singing at the age of 17 and ending with her final game on Tuesday at London Colney.
“It’s been a wild trip, and I’m so happy that I was there to experience all the highs and lows, growth and progress, and to truly be able to claim that I was a part of it. People sometimes remark, ‘It’s just football,’ but I have devoted my entire life to this club. My home will always be Arsenal. My family will always be Arsenal,” Jordan Nobbs said after completing her move to Aston Villa. “Since the moment I arrived at this club at the age of 17, I have given my all to this organization and my efforts to become one of the greatest players Arsenal has ever produced. How can I follow in Jayne Ludlow’s footsteps? Will Kelly Smith follow? And how can I stay on top of Kim Little?”
“Because I understood how crucial it was to play for this club and how passionate and loving the girls were when I first arrived, I gave everything I had every time I put on that shirt. To know I contributed to leaving that legacy is truly something remarkable,” he added. “Because I understood how crucial it was to play for this club and how passionate and loving the girls were when I first arrived, I gave everything I had every time I put on that shirt.
