Chennaiyin FC new signing Vincy Barretto believes that the team can push more with the fans behind them. Baretto joined Chennayin FC from Kerala Blasters and is hoping to impress his new fans and help the team to compete at the top again. The midfielder made his ISL debut last season and believes that he tried too hard at times during his 17 appearances.
“I wasn’t nervous, I had confidence in myself. I was too excited to play the game, prove myself and do what I can for the team,” Chennaiyin FC midfielder Vincy Barretto said. “When the fans are with us, they follow us, support us from their hearts. When they are there, we can push a lot more and the fans behind us will say ‘come on and for me, it’s no pressure at all.”
The club also announced the signing of German midfielder Julius Duker as their last foreign signing. He is a product of the VFL Wolfsburg academy and has only played in Germany so far.
“Our final foreign signing Julius will be a great fit in this youthful and fresh-looking team we have put together. His versatility will be a good asset for the team,” said Chennaiyin FC co-owner Vita Dani.
“I‘m proud to be part of this big club. First of all, I would like to thank the fans for all the messages and the warm welcome,” Julius Duker said. “I’m just excited to finally be able to meet the team, the staff, and our fans. Of course, I’m motivated to achieve the goals set by the club. I will work hard to create successful times for the club again. But first I want to get to know the team and get in shape.”
