Dele Alli was again left out of Tottenham’s squad for the Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea on Tuesday evening.
Dele has played only one of Spurs’ three Premier League games so far in 2019/20, playing the first 45 minutes of the opening weekend confrontation with Everton before being taken off at halftime.
While the 24-year-old recently had a tussle with Shkendija for Spurs in the Europa League, he did not even make the substitute bench for his side’s last two Premier League matches.
Indeed, Dele was most recently omitted from the matchday squad for the game against Newcastle on Sunday, but Mourinho was expected to rotate his team for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup match with Tottenham back in Thursday’s European action.
However, the Telegraph notes that for the match against Chelsea, the England international was once again left out of the squad.
