Chennaiyin FC has completed the signing of winger Prasanth K from Kerala FC on a one-year deal. The Kozhikode-born winger leaves Kerala after spending five years at the club. He has three goals and three assists to his name from the 76 appearances in his career. Prasanth made his debut while on loan at Chennaiyin FC in 2017. He is a product of the AIFF Elite Academy and has represented the country at the U-17 and U-20 levels. Last season, he played 324 minutes, scoring a goal and providing an assist.
“I’m thrilled and honored to be a member of this group. I’m here to set the bar higher and give it my all,” Prasanth K said after completing his move to Chennaiyin FC.
“Prasanth is a fantastic option to increase our attack’s depth before the new season. He should fit in fine because he previously played in Chennai,” Chennaiyin FC co-owner Vita Dani said.
Meanwhile, India is looking to end their friendly tournament on a high when they take on Vietnam. After a disappointing draw against Singapore, India is aware that nothing short of a win is needed to win the trophy.
“The game will be played against a much stronger opponent, thus our strategy will also change in line with that,” Indian football team head coach Igor Stimac said. “In particular, with vertical football and quick transitions, we need to be more concentrated.”
