Martinez’s Bayern Career:
Martinez became Bayern’s most lucrative signing when he joined from Athletic Club for €40 million (£35 million/$49 million) in 2012.
Since then, the World Cup champion has made 266 appearances for the Bundesliga giants in all competitions. They scored 14 goals and assisting on 11 occasions.
With Bayern, Martinez has won 22 trophies in total, including nine league titles and two Champions League titles.
Who else is on Bayern target this summer?
Martinez isn’t the only prominent figure expected to leave the Allianz Arena this summer; Bayern has already agreed not to extend the contract of veteran defender Jerome Boateng.
David Alaba will also leave in search of a new opportunity outside of Germany. While head coach Hansi Flick will be replaced by Julian Nagelsmann of RB Leipzig.
