Dele Alli, a Tottenham midfielder, thanked fans for their help after news emerged saying he sustained minor injuries after being robbed at his home’s knifepoint.
The incident is said to have happened on Wednesday morning just after midnight, with police reporting Alli sustained a “minor facial injury after being attacked” by two males. Alli did not require hospitalization because the police would continue to search for the guilty.

The Incident
“About 00:35 on Wednesday 13 May, police were called to investigate a robbery at a Barnet residential address,” a police spokesman said.
“Two males entered the property and stole jewelry items, including watches before they fled. One of the property’s male residents, aged in his 20s, sustained a minor facial injury following the attack. He did not need treatment in the hospital. No arrests were made; investigations into the circumstances are ongoing.”
Investigators are said to study Alli’s house’s CCTV recordings to collect information about the suspects.
With a post on Twitter, the 24-year-old reported the incident, saying he was doing well, though he called the experience “horrible.”
“Thank you for all the messages. Terrible experience, but now we’re all right. Appreciate the support,” said the international from England.

Alli was thumped in the chest during the robbery, according to a story in the Daily Mail, as the Spurs star got into a scuffle with the two culprits.
During the coronavirus lockdown, Alli was isolating himself in his house, reportedly sharing the room with his brother and two friends, along with another friend.
Tottenham’s Players At Risk
The robbery incident comes just two months after Alli’s team-mate Jan Vertonghen in his north London home suffered a similar scare.
Tottenham is intensifying individual preparation as they see a return to the pitch next month under the Restart Project Program of the Premier League.
Spurs had been eighth in the Premier League before the coronavirus suspension in March, seven points behind fourth-place Chelsea.
