Ralph Hasenhuttl is certain that he knows the Norwich team sufficiently to come up with a game plan to defeat them tomorrow evening.
By beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in a friendly back-closed-door, Norwich has stepped up their match preparations tonight.
Asked if he got any footage from the warm-up tie of the Canaries, Hasenhuttl said: “We’ve got our details about this opponent. I remember well the last week’s opposition meeting and then on Thursday, it was postponed so we had plenty of time to think about this opponent as they had with us. We know what to expect and it’s going to be an interesting game against an opponent who is maybe looking at his last chance to stay in the league. We’ve shown some good games in this special situation and starting with an away game without a crowd I think it’s going to be interesting and nobody knows exactly at what level his team is at. Because of just one test game, this is the same at every club so everyone has to handle it and I think it should be an interesting and intense time.”
Before the tie on Friday evening, Hasenhuttl also revealed that some of the players are fitter than they were before the halt to the March season.
“I think the guys are fairly good, they’ve worked well at home. I think some are in an even better physical shape because they’ve been able to focus on their deficits, which gives me the feeling that we’re good,” he said.
