Tottenham Hotspur is the new club to make a bid for center-back Thiago Silva from Paris Saint-Germain, who will be walking away from the Parc des Princes until the Champions League comes to a close.
The 35-year-old will join Edinson Cavani in quitting the club this summer once their contracts expire, and both players are expected to have no lack of interest.
For Silva, 90min learned that several sides of the Premier League are considering bids, including Arsenal and Everton, and now the Sun is throwing the name Spurs into the mix as well.
With Jan Vertonghen set to leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, José Mourinho knows he needs to find a replacement, and with money expected to be scarce this summer, the boss’s chance to land Silva on a free transfer is considered appealing.

However, the same struggles over money could still prove to be a problem as Silva earns about £350,000 a week in Paris currently. He will almost definitely consider a lower salary at this stage in his career but it remains to be seen if he can go low enough for Spurs to please.
Despite interest from Brazil and a whole host of countries worldwide, Silva has focused on seeing Caras still seeing his future in Europe.
“I know everyone’s affection for Fluminense but I still have goals to achieve in Europe,” he revealed.
Silva still has to decide on his future, as he is waiting for clubs to line up their offers. Newcastle, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and West Ham are all considering transfers, although a move to bring Silva back to San Siro has also been closely linked with the former AC Milan side.
