England and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho have been fined by the German League for having a haircut in his home, in violation of the country’s restrictions to prevent coronavirus spread.
Jadon Sancho described the German league ‘s decision to fine him as an “absolute joke” for getting a haircut in his home that breached the country’s restrictions to prevent coronavirus from spreading.
The 20-year-old forward and his teammate Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund were fined after images emerged from them getting a haircut in their respective homes, with neither the players nor the hairdresser wearing personal protective equipment in the photos.
On Friday a statement by the German League (DFL) said: “The DFL has fined Manuel Akanji and Jadon Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund players had breached the general hygiene and infection protection standards at home hairdressing appointments and in particular the DFL task force ‘s medical-organizational concept.”
Sancho replied by tweeting: “Total DFL joke.”
Sancho’s fine follows a decision by the German Football Federation (DFB) not to punish him after his Dortmund shirt was lifted by England international to reveal a T-shirt with the message “Justice for George Floyd” during last weekend ‘s win over Paderborn.
