Thomas Muller is uncertain about what was planned for the summer transfer window by Bayern Munich but says the club always wants to attract ‘the best players with the best abilities’ like Kai Havertz.
Having racked up 11 goals and five assists for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga this season, Havertz, 21, has established himself as one of the most promising young players in Germany and Europe’s elite are preparing to compete for the midfielder’s attacking signature.
After making touch with Leverkusen, Chelsea is in favor of landing Havertz to negotiate a future contract, but Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern remain closely linked to international Germany.
After seeing Havertz’s exceptional talent close to duty with the German national team, Muller was not shocked by the hype surrounding Havertz.
And it seems that the Bayern would be keen for his fellow countryman to move forward if the club could fund such a signing amid the economic uncertainty caused by the coronavirus crisis.
“I had enjoyed the training and playing with him in my last appearances for the national team. He’s an extremely good player for his age, if not the top talent in Europe. He does have really good skills. We want to have the best players with the best skills at Bayern of course. I don’t have much insight into the financial sector and the role of sports director, unfortunately. I don’t know what is expected and which budget in the current situation can be allocated to the transfers,” Muller said.
