A new Bundesliga record was set against avert Freiburg on Friday with a match-winning goal by Bayer Leverkusen star Kai.
To round off an impressive team transfer, the 20-year-old charged forward to collect the return pass after flicking the ball onto Leon Bailey and slotted past Freiburg goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow.

The goal is Havertz’s 35th in the Bundesliga since his 2016 debut and he’s the first player to reach the tally before he was 21 years old. Now he’s closing in on Leverkusen’s top 10 all-time scorers-he only needs seven to catch former Leverkusen star Oliver Neuville in 10th position.
He has been the most successful player in the top five leagues in Europe during this calendar year, scoring nine goals and assisting a further four.
Havertz, who recently played as a center-forward, has been on fire since the start of the Bundesliga earlier this month. Friday night ‘s goal was his fifth on the side of Peter Bosz’s four games and his fifteenth in 38 appearances in all this season’s competitions.
Germany international is expected to reach the end of its career with Leverkusen, as the top teams in Europe have been linked in recent months.
The attacking midfielder is keeping quiet about his future out of loyalty to his current side. But Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Juventus are all said to be chasing Havertz.
While Leverkusen has made it known that they would not sell for anything less than €100 million (£90m/$111 m).
Havertz has been with Leverkusen since he was 11 years old and is contracted with the club until 2022.
With the victory on Friday, Leverkusen climbed up to third in the league, overtaking RB Leipzig who faced Koln on Monday.
