Former RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick stated that Milan was in contact to discuss his availability, in the wake of speculation that he was in line to become the next head coach of the club.

The 52-year-old was drafted last June to succeed Genarro Gattuso in the hot seat but only lasted four months in the job before Stefano Pioli was replaced.

their rivals.

In recent months, Rangnick has been closely aligned with the top job at San Siro, having sculpted a sterling reputation in Germany over the past two decades. The 61-year-old has led Schalke to the 2011 DFB Pokal and helped turn Leipzig into one of the Bundesliga’s top clubs.
Nonetheless, Rangnick acknowledged that he would be open to the possibility of joining Milan and thus stated that talks with the Italian giants took place before the coronavirus of the season triggered the split. “I can not rule it out. Adding to it, Rangnick also said that “The coronavirus outbreak came after the contact and more important problems emerged. Milan and the Lega had other things to worry about.”
