Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos said that after the coronavirus outbreak, Spain needs football to improve the economy and attract fans as LaLiga eyes a return in June.
LaLiga has been delayed since March because of the COVID-19 pandemic that has wreaked havoc worldwide – killing more than 283,500 people and bringing the sport to a halt.
For the 2019-20 campaign in Spain, where Barca topped the table ahead of Madrid after 27 matches, a mid-June resumption has been confirmed.

Ramos also gave some insight into what life is like as a footballer returning to training under the new procedure. “We will go to Valdebebas in separated zones to follow the rules, it’s a little strange to confuse but the situation demands it. We want to be close to our families but we do need to be flexible.”That could mean that Real Madrid won’t play at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Real Madrid is two points behind Barcelona where there are 11 games left to play.
