Three players were confirmed by Paris Saint-Germain and one staff member tested positive for coronavirus.
The champions of the Ligue 1, who was crowned in April after the rest of the season has been canceled and positions decided on a point-per-game basis due to the coronavirus pandemic, are due to return to the training ahead of the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue finals and the Champions League resumption.
Thomas Tuchel’s men are going through to the last eight of the Champions League, to be finished in a Lisbon tournament in August.
Before the interruption of the season in March they secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the European competition at the expense of Borussia Dortmund, joining Atalanta, Atletico Madrid, and RB Leipzig as one of the four teams that have already progressed from the last-16 stage.
Before that, PSG is scheduled to face Saint-Etienne in the final of the Coupe de France on July 24 and then Lyon in the last showpiece of the Coupe de la Ligue on July 31, which added to Ligue 1 and the Trophée des Champions means that the French side will remain in the running to complete an unprecedented quintuple.
On Monday, the club conducted tests that confirmed the cases.
A statement on PSG ‘s website read: “These persons had symptoms when they were not in contact with each other during the time of confinement. They are not contagious anymore, and they will resume their training program.”
PSG is expected to begin small group training Thursday.
