Paolo Maldini may be staying in Milan, but his current job as Technical Director is said to play a different role. Maldini had been promoted to Technical Director last summer but Red Bull boss Ralf Rangnick is about to steal his energy.
Instead of getting rid of him entirely, Il Giornale is writing to CEO Ivan Gazidis who recently talked to the 52-year-old about taking up a new role within the club’s hierarchy.
Maldini was the head of sports preparation and development for Milan, working under Leonardo for a season before he became Technical Director.
Meanwhile, the rumors (via Football Italia) that Rangnick ‘s arrival could be moved forward if coach Stefano Pioli struggles in his next few games.
