Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo admits that he has no idea if Adama Traore is going to leave the club this summer. Liverpool is reported to have been linked to a winger move that delivered another impressive performance on Sunday against West Ham.
In the final third, Traore offered a reminder of his exciting combination of speed, strength, and quality when he came on as a second-half replacement to set late goals for Raul Jimenez and Pedro Neto in Wolves’ 2-0 victory at London Stadium.
Next up for Wolves is Wednesday night ‘s visit to Bournemouth.
When asked if the 24-year-old will still be at the next season at Molineux, Nuno said: “I don’t know. He’s here now, and he’s trained well today, and he’s ready to go [play] tomorrow. It’s no speculation day by day, and just focus on what we need to do and prepare for Bournemouth.”
Traore has built a reputation as an impact replacement but the former Barcelona trainee is pressing hard towards Bournemouth for a starting spot, while Nuno declined to be drawn on his team selection.
Nuno said: “He has to keep on working. Adama is a special player, he ‘s unique and I think he already has an impact on the game when he’s on the pitch. Of course, he has things to do better, and then our decision is how we use players and manage the team in the game plan and the moment. After three months of activity, the momentum and moment we are in, we have plenty of things to judge on and try to make the right decisions.”
Wolves will face a Bournemouth side that battled back into action against Crystal Palace on the weekend, with the 2-0 loss at Vitality Stadium marking the fourth setback for Eddie Howe’s relegation-threatened team in the last five Premier League games.
Nuno still awaits a tough test for his side, though.
He said: “Bournemouth is a good team. It’s a team that plays good football and has a fantastic manager and very good players. The games are so tough and anybody can see what’s happening to Bournemouth. Bouncing back from a bad run is very difficult but I have all the respect and admiration for Bournemouth.”
