Newcastle is keen to sign with Jeff Hendrick this season.
According to Daily Mirror, the 28-year-old freelance agent is a priority for the Magpies. It’ll be interesting to see whether Newcastle is sending the player a bid. Hendrick could on a free transfer prove to be a good squad player for Steve Bruce’s side.
The Republic of Ireland International has an abundance of experience in the Premier League (122 appearances) and can play multiple roles if needed.
Hendrick can play on the right as a winger, a defensive midfielder and a central midfielder. Newcastle will profit from having a player with his versatility through injuries and rotations.
The Magpies are in the middle of a takeover and their squad is expected to dramatically strengthen once the formalities are complete. Gathering up bargains such as Hendrick to bulk up their squad now would allow him to pick top-class players for their starting lineup later on. There is no reason why if Newcastle offers him a lucrative contract the midfielder will not join them. Besides, Newcastle ‘s future under its potential new owners is also an attractive prospect.
Burnley released the 28-year-old recently and he has 3 goals so far this season 2 is assisting his target.
