The club has reported that Stoke City manager Michael O’Neill has tested the coronavirus positively.
Stoke City can confirm that the COVID-19 virus was tested positively by manager Michael O’Neill after the latest testing round on Monday (June 8). O’Neill tested negative in the previous five test rounds,” read the club statement.
O’Neill will now follow the relevant guidelines and undergo a period of isolation while remaining in regular virtual contact with its coaching staff and players.
Assistant manager Billy McKinlay will take care of training as the Potters prepare against Reading for their game on June 20.
As United prepare for the Premier League restart, Manchester in the meanwhile had canceled a friendly game with Stoke City which the United had arranged at their Carrington training base with the Championship side. This was reported in an ESPN report.
Instead of facing Stoke, United has participated in a friendly intrasquad as they prepare for their June 19 trip to Tottenham.
