Messi doesn’t often give interviews but in this case he spoke about Lautaro Martinez with Sport and Mundo Deportivo. Here’s what Messi had to say regarding the rumors:
Lionel Messi says that Lautaro Martinez, a long-rumored Barcelona goal, is an “impressive striker” as the Inter hero seems to be linked to La Liga’s side.
For many months Martinez has been linked to Barca, scoring 16 goals for Inter in 31 games this season. Although Messi says he’s not sure if rumors are true, the Barca star says he’ll be happy to play with his countryman at the Camp Nou.
I am being truthful when I say that I don’t know if there were or are talks right now for him. I have no idea. I think I have already said it.
Lautaro is an amazing striker, and above all, because I think he is very complete number nine. He’s big dribbles well, scores goals, knows how to protect the ball. But we will have to see what happens with him and with the other names they are saying,” said Messi to Mundo Deportivo.
The captain of Argentina and FC Barcelona also commented on the new transfer marker:
