The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic has caused the most significant disruption to the worldwide sporting calendar and contracts with his players. Across the world and to varying degrees, sports contracts have been canceled or postponed.
Barcelona has recently made no progress in reaching an agreement on a new deal with goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The German has spent six years enjoying a good spell at Camp Nou, making a total of 224 appearances at all competitions.
Though a long-term first-team player, the 27-year-old is probably one of the lowest-earning, high-profile players in the club.
According to Sport, Ter Stegen has yet to obtain an offer that would tempt him to extend his deal with the Catalan giants, partially owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Since the stopper has a contract until 2022, Barcelona is keen to find a successful agreement to keep its interest in the transfer market.
Although Ter Stegen is unlikely to be short of offers should he become available, the report suggests he would prefer to stay at La Liga leaders.
What do you think? Will Barcelona could actually lose Ter Stegen?
