Leo Messi is back in his ‘garden.’ Argentina forward, along with the rest of the first Barcelona team, was back for a special training session at Camp Nou on Saturday.
It was the first time the players have played in three months, in concrete 91 days, on their home pitch. That’s how long it’s been since Real Sociedad beat 1-0 ahead of the lockdown of coronaviruses.
It was an emotional return for Messi, who shared his joy in being able to step back on the Camp Nou turf again with a video on social media.
“I have really missed this place,” he wrote, alongside a training photograph of him. “Can’t wait to play here again .”

However, on Saturday Messi only practiced alone as he continues his research on rehabilitation from a muscular injury. The issue won’t stop him from playing against Mallorca next Saturday.
Messi, 28, was wounded at the Camp Nou very early and forced out of the field, but Barca was still able to prevail against a valiant effort from the newly promoted Las Palmas.
Recently, Barcelona has been struck by a variety of injuries and Messi joined Rafinha on the injury list following surgery by the Brazilian forward on a torn right ACL sustained in the Champions League against Roma.
After the Argentine superstar tore a knee ligament during the 2-1 win over Las Palmas, Neymar was one of many Barcelona stars to send messages of support to Lionel Messi.
