Leicester’s match with Crystal Palace Saturday could also be postponed by the Premier League following the coronavirus outbreak and local lockout.
The Foxes face Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports but are due to hosting Palace at the King Power Stadium in the heart of town on Saturday afternoon.
Government authorities have suggested that the new lockout measures remain in place in Leicester for an additional two weeks, as coronavirus controls in the rest of England are expected to ease from Saturday.
Although health secretary Matt Hancock said Tuesday that Leicester’s match with Palace will go ahead, Premier League chief executive Richard Masters told parliament that contingency plans were in place to move the game to a neutral venue or postpone it if needed.
The Security Advisory Committee, which has the final say on where the game will be played, will meet later Tuesday to address the situation.
The Premier League claims that all of its grounds are secure while clubs have decided to use neutral venues ahead of restart if their games can not be played at home.
The Premier League also has several neutral grounds on hand if there is any suggestion that a game can’t be played at the club’s home stadium.
