As Series A clubs were given the green light to return to individual training on Monday, Juventus recalled their 10 overseas players.
Wojciech Szczesny and Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Turin to begin their fourteen-day quarantine, with Danilo and Douglas Costa scheduled to return tomorrow to Juventus.
The training ground at Continassa has opened up for individual training sessions, according to Football Italia, while guidelines for social distancing do need to be followed.
Those already granted the all-clear for COVID-19 will start running on the training pitches from today, but the situation is more complicated for players who have been abroad. Anyone who comes to Italy from another country will go into quarantine for 14 days before getting further checks.
Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo flew back to Italy Monday after nearly two months in the quarantine of coronavirus in his native Portugal. According to media reports in Italy, Ronaldo and his family landed in Turin Airport just after 22.20 pm local time.
The Portuguese intruder spent nearly two months in his native Madeira when Italy was struck by the coronavirus pandemic, throwing the nation into lockdown.
Cristiano Ronaldo just returned from Portugal last night while Szczesny arrived today from Poland.
It is confirmed that Douglas Costa and Danilo will be flying in from Brazil tomorrow so that both of these players can’t even set foot in the training ground until May 20. Gonzalo Higuain is currently in Argentina and it is unknown when he returns.
Meanwhile, unlike Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi, COVID-19 did not send Paulo Dybala the all-clear so he can not return to the training either.
The club has yet to have an official date for returning to training. Juventus began on Monday performing tests on their players at the club’s Turin medical center.
