Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has asked the club to give him five new players next season.
The Portuguese boss needs to add more depth and consistency to his side but he knows Tottenham will have a small transfer budget this summer. The Londoners would then look to tap into the free-agent and loan market to get their backing up. The strategy is understandable in light of the current financial stress.
Tottenham faces major losses because of the Coronavirus outbreak. Not only have they missed out on matchday sales, but they are still losing money because of the numerous sporting activities expected to take place at their new stadium this summer. Many of those things were postponed to avoid the spread of the virus.
Some of Spurs’ stars are Philippe Coutinho, Adrien Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey, Thiago Silva, Alexis Sanchez, and Gareth Bale, among others. The Londoners have tried to sign Thomas Meunier but the Belgian has agreed on a free transfer for Borussia Dortmund.
As of 90min, Spurs had already made an offer for Bale. It would be fascinating to see if they can get the 83-cap Welsh international back to the club. Bale fell out of favor at Real Madrid and he could be sold if a reasonable offer comes in.
