Jadon Sancho scored a second-half hat-trick as Borussia Dortmund finished second with a comfortable 6-1 victory over Paderborn ‘s bottom leg.
Paderborn annoyed Dortmund for long stretches in the first half, thus generating a few presentable scoring chances through Christopher Antworti-Adjei, who pulled both sides of BVB’s best work. Thorgan Hazard forced Leopold Zingerle into a good save with the opening of Dortmund’s first note until Raphael Guerreiro came to a close with a furious strike heading down the corner before a defender from Paderborn interfered with it to a wide range.

Sieben had ruled out an offside attempt and former Dortmund defender Uwe Hünemeier reduced the arrears on the penalty spot, only for Sancho to fire in from 18 yards and for Hakimi to add a fourth. Fellow substitute Marcel Schmelzer converted into Axel Witsel ‘s cross after US teenager Gio Reyna walked into a whisker of a maiden Bundesliga goal, with Sancho completing his hat-trick from close up in added time.
