Lille forward Victor Osimhen refuted claims that he planned to move them to Napoli and dismissed them as “fake news.”
Osimhen enjoyed an impressive campaign with the northern French club in Ligue 1 before the coronavirus pandemic early ended the 2019-20 campaign. This has seen the international connection between Nigeria and several clubs across Europe.
This led to claims from several outlets that Osimhen had agreed to a deal with Serie A club Napoli-but the player himself rubbished these.

He told Omasports: “It’s fake news about my deal with Napoli. These journalists, which claim to be professionals, surprise me. Ignore this fake news on my account, you’ll know it directly from me when there’s a deal for my transfer.”
Only before the 2019-20 season, Osimhen joined Lille from Sporting Charleroi but is already connected with a big-money move elsewhere.
Including two in a Champions League campaign that saw Lille register only a solitary point, he scored 18 goals in all competitions, as they finished behind Valencia, Chelsea and Ajax at the bottom of Group H.
According to owner Gerard Lopez, Lille has received multiple offers for Osimhen which had previously rejected interest in the forward during January.
Osimhen, with Tottenham and Liverpool among the names mentioned, has also reportedly attracted interest from the Premier League. His agent, Ariyo Igbayilola, says the player will only be joining a club where first-team football is guaranteed.
