Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has donated a shirt to help raise money for Bergamo Hospital from his Champions League debut against Tottenham.
The human rights activist wants to help fight COVID-19 and has agreed to donate his shirt No6 to the # TheBiggestGame project of Shirtum.com. The donation money goes to the Hospital Papa Giovanni XXIII in Bergamo.ion because I used it against Tottenham in my Champions League debut. “I hope you are all good and I send you a big hug!”
He uploaded a video on Instagram followed by the caption: ” I decided to donate this shirt of mine to help personally in the fight against coronavirus. By donating € 5 or more it can be yours and together we will help Pope John XXIII Hospital in Bergamo.”
In his video he said: “Hello everybody, I’ve decided to donate this shirt to the Bergamo Hospital,” he said in an Instagram video. “I have a special connection because I used it against Tottenham in my Champions League debut. “I hope you are all good and I send you a big hug!”

Starting his career at his local club VV Spirit, Dutch professional footballer debuted as a Feyenoord professional at the age of 17. He spent five seasons at the Eredivisie club before joining Lazio in July 2014, acting briefly as captain.
In the opener of the 2018-19 group stage, Inter won the match 2-1 and De Vrij assisted Matias Vecino’s injury-time winner.
