Chelsea has held discussions with Frank Lampard on Jorginho ‘s future. Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is involved in a meeting with the midfielder, 28, who he took to Naples’ Stamford Bridge in 2018.
In the wake of rumors linking him to a move to Juventus, Chelsea reportedly set an asking price of around £60 m on Jorginho. Juve’s boss, Maurizio Sarri, worked with Jorginho in Naples before taking him to the Stamford Bridge, and now he is supposed to join the Turin midfielder for the third time.
It has been suggested that a potential swap deal will see Miralem Pjanic travel in the opposite direction and Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is rumored to be involved in that scenario. But with Barcelona still interested in Pjanic, Tuttosport confirmed Juventus had been asked by the Blues how much a straight cash deal would cost Jorginho.
With Italy international, the London company wants between €65 m (£58.2 m) and €70 m (£62.6 m) – marginally more than they had paid with signing it two years earlier. Jorginho had scored nine goals for Chelsea in 91 games since joining the club.
After Sarri ‘s departure at the end of last season Jorginho has enjoyed a return to form.
He battled in his Stamford Bridge maiden campaign but won over the supporters of the club by scoring seven goals in 37 appearances in all Frank Lampard competitions this term.
Juventus are on the lookout for a midfielder because after failing to win over Sarri, Miralem Pjanic is likely to move on.
A swap deal has been mooted involving Jorginho though Serie A giants are also hoping to exchange Pjanic for Arthur in Barcelona.
If Juventus wants to strike a cash offer for Jorginho then after Chelsea bosses and Lampard spoke about his future they face stumping up a huge fee.
Jorginho experienced a renaissance under Lampard ‘s tutelage and described the public support of the head coach as a crucial spark in his return to form.
