Red Bull Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch acknowledged that after his team talk went viral, his now-famous half-time speech against Liverpool made him a little “uncomfortable.”
During the Austrian side ‘s trip to Anfield, the speech came, a match that saw Liverpool hold on to a slim 4-3 win despite 3-0 in 36 minutes.
Marsh lit a fire under his RB Salzburg side with his half-time chat, after a goal from Hwang Hee-chan before the half, which went viral as a result of a fightback from his side into the match.
Goals signed by Takumi Minamino and megastar striker Erling Haaland from future Liverpool saw Salzburg fight back before Mohammed Salah sealed the win with a goal of 69th minute.
Marsch ‘s opposite manager Jurgen Klopp has since said that if Liverpool ever broadcasts one of his team talks he would “leave the club.”
The American manager, however, says that he understands why there is interest in this kind of back-the-scenes footage, even though he’s not at the center of it entirely comfortable.

“I wouldn’t say I was pleased-I felt awkward as all the videos from the documentary came out. I hate hearing myself speak German, that’s annoying! But in the U.S., I was going through it – people enjoy the content,” Marsch told Blood Red Podcast.
