Since joining BVB in January the Norwegian has been sparkling but it wasn’t enough to win the title. Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland has made his feelings about Bayern Munich’s title win quite clear, saying it was “sh*t” that the Bavarian giants were once again champions.
In midweek, Bayern took an eighth consecutive Bundesliga title with a win at Werder Bremen. Dortmund has now finished runners-up in five of those eight seasons, with a 2-0 victory at third-placed RB Leipzig on Saturday ensuring they’ve once again won second.
From his move from RB Salzburg in January, Haaland continued his fine form with both goals on a Dortmund shirt to take his tally to 16 goals in 17 appearances. This proved little consolation for the Norwegian, however, who was not happy with finishing second.
“It’s of course shit that Bayern won first of all. But that’s how it is now, and out of that, we have to do our best. And now we’ve secured second place, but after the final whistle we’ve tried to get as close as we can on them,” he told BT Sport.
Dortmund is completing their Bundesliga season 2019-20 at home, next Saturday, in Hoffenheim.
