According to reports, Manchester City defender John Stones emerged as a potential transfer choice for the former Everton club. While England International made 129 appearances during its four years at the Etihad Stadium, it has recently been reported that City is willing to accept the offers of the 26-year-old.
While Arsenal was bound to Stones in the past, The Sun reports that the Toffees might be open to a reunion with their former star. At a time when Carlo Ancelotti is trying to build on the back, club executives need to think they need to re-sign Stones for less than the £47 m they got back in 2016.
Pep Guardiola could keep him at the club for the next 12 months given the fact that Stones had two years left on his contract.
The city would presumably look to cash in on the center-back on the right to finance a replacement bid, but dropped the pecking order down.
