Despite being out of contract, David Luiz wants to prolong his stay at Arsenal and there is a very high chance it will happen, says his agent. Recently learning from Sky Sports News, Luiz moved to the Emirates on a one-year deal rather than the two-year contract reported his agent Kia Joorabchian had revealed that Arsenal had the option of extending the deal for a second season, which they did not take and the clause has since expired.
Joorabchian confirmed in a Sunday interview with Sky Sports News that the Brazilian didn’t want to leave north London, adding the club and the player should discuss his future as soon as possible.
Representative Kia Joorabchian has said that David Luiz has ‘no intention’ to leave Arsenal by 2020. About a time when the defender admitted to wanting to return to Benfica, sources suggested that Arsenal could not take advantage of their right to extend the Brazilian Emirates Stadium deal.

However, Joorabchian suggested that the 33-year-old would prefer to spend the next 12 months with the Gunners, instead of making the move to Portugal’s top flight.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Joorabchian said: “He is very happy at Arsenal. He has a very good relationship with both the coach and the technical director. He has good relationships all over the club, right down to the owner.”
“Arsenal had a choice that expired. We also had a pandemic. And the choice expired amid the pandemic. We’re all well aware of the situation and we’re all trying, very slowly, to get back to this ‘new normal.’ These contract issues, these renewals, whether they stay or whether they go, will all work out themselves when we get back to some work of ‘new normal. David’s going to sit down with Arsenal before the season begins, have his talks and they’re going to both discuss whether he’s going to stay or not. That’s going to happen before the start of the season. Chances are very high,” Joorabchian added
Luiz has made 32 starts this season in all competitions, adding two goals.
