Dani Alves has reportedly helped convince Arthur Melo to leave Barcelona for Juventus after the midfielder ‘s initial cold shoulder. The trade deal between Arthur and Miralem Pjanic finally went through last week but, it proved hard to obtain the Brazilian ‘s approval as he struggled to stay at Camp Nou.
Former full-back Dani Alves of Barcelona helped persuade Arthur Melo to leave Camp Nou and join Juventus. After eight years at the Blaugrana, Alves left the Catalan giants in the summer of 2016 to join the Italian champions and his international teammates are now about to pursue the same direction.
Now, ESPN claims Alves was one of the keys to the move that took place thanks to ‘a series of phone calls,’ where the right-back explained he’d have ‘a greater role to play’ in Turin.
The ex-Barcelona man won a domestic double and reached the Champions League finals with the Bianconeri in 2016-17.
The website adds Alex Sandro and Douglas Costa were equally critical in persuading their countryman to consider the Old Lady ‘s offer.
Arthur and Pjanic will see Barca and Juve out of the season until they turn teams on.
