Former Juventus wing-back Dani Alves flirts with Milan, claiming that at San Siro he would be ‘a star’: ‘Age is just a number.’
The 37-year-old, who won the title in Spain, Italy, and France and collected a total of 40 senior-level trophies, returned to São Paulo ahead of last season.
The right-back ended his 17-year-long stay in Europe after leaving Juventus for Paris Saint-Germain but says he will still be able to contribute at Italy’s top level.
He told Hoy No Se Sale, a Spanish broadcast: “I would be a star in Milan today. Age is just a number and when I play football I still want to fight.I’ve been running 12 kilometers per game before but the smart thing is running just eight. But one thing I am sure is: I don’t want to be ashamed of being on the pitch. I will retire when I can’t do it anymore.”
Daniel Alves is the most decorated player in football history with more than 40 trophies, the second most decorated defender of all time in European competitions with nine European medals, placing him on the all-time list alongside Paolo Maldini.
Alves is an aggressive right-back or wing-back, known in particular for his speed, stamina, overlapping attacking runs, and technical skills that also allow him to play in the midfield or as a winger; he is also blessed with good crossing accuracy and distribution, enabling him to connect with midfielders, making him an effective assistant on the right flank.
